Last night was NYC photog (and friend of Celebrity Bathwater) Meagan Cignoli’s birthday party.

Times may be hard, but no one noticed last night at Sanctuary T. The handpainted invites for the dinner guests were totally Jackie O, and guests of Meagan’s sipped champagne topped with Chamomile tea and Elderflower. West Broadway has been quiet on Fridays and Saturdays this year, but the party was packed with artists and socialites who weren’t too busy counting their pennies to come out.

In attendance was a classy group of people — South of France meets lower east side. It all ended the next day with some table dancing in at Merkato55 for brunch. Not bad for a day’s work.

Round up the usual suspects: The Writers Guild of America has named “Casablanca” as No. 1 on its first list of the “101 Greatest Screenplays.”

It was followed on the list by the screenplay for “The Godfather,” written by Mario Puzo and Francis Ford Coppola; “Chinatown,” written by Robert Towne; “Citizen Kane,” by Herman Mankiewicz and Orson Welles; and “All About Eve” by Joseph Mankiewicz.

Three writers — Allen, Coppola and Wilder — had four films on the list, while three others had three: William Goldman, John Huston and Charlie Kaufman.

Paris Hilton’s New Venture

Is there nothing the heiress can’t do? She’s modeled, acted, and has her own perfume line. Now she’s decided to take her career one step further by trying her hand, or voice, at singing.

But, Hilton does want to make sure her singing career is a success. She doesn’t want to be mocked if it fails.She began talking about releasing an album over two years ago, but no singles have been released as of yet.

“I want every song to be great. If they aren’t, people will trash me,” she told US magazine.

Somehow, we feel she’ll be trashed regardless. Even if, on the off chance, she’s the second coming of John Lennon there’s no music critics in the United States willing to destroy their reputations for loving pretentious crap by admitting Paris Hilton created a good album.

But forget the hypotethicals because we all know it’s going to suck regardless of how much time she puts into it.

Hilton is collaborating with Snoop Dogg on her project.

Collaborations with Snoop Dogg were still relevant in 1993. They’re not so much so today. Case in point: Director Jessy Terrero’s 2004 “collaboration” with Snoop Dogg which produced Soul Plane.
